MIELA is a mixed Kiwi–Vietnamese emerging singer and multidisciplinary artist whose music weaves together jazz, soul, reggae, and world music. Inspired by artists such as Sade, Enya, Lana Del Rey, Billie Holiday and Hindi Zahra, her sound is intimate, atmospheric, and deeply expressive.
Through multi-lingual songwriting, MIELA explores themes of love, nature, feminine sensuality, womanhood, vulnerability, and self-reflection. Her music celebrates emotional honesty and the many layers of identity, drawing from her multicultural roots and a lifelong curiosity for different cultures, stories, and sounds.
Her debut EP, Love In The Big City (2023), captures personal experiences of love and heartbreak during the COVID era, set against the backdrop of Auckland — a city she once called home.
Now based in New Zealand, MIELA’s work is shaped by her love of art, romance, travel, history, and cross-cultural connection, creating music that feels intimate, timeless & universal ♡
